dc.description.abstractOn November 1, 1933, by a decree of the Government of Georgia, based on the decision of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the former USSR, the Geophysical Institute was established as part of the Georgian Branch of the Transcaucasian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, now the M. Nodia Institute of Geophysics of Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The article gives a brief history of the Institute.en
